The building was previously an office in Epsom High Street in Surrey were the first & second floor and roof space was converted in to eleven one bedroom apartments constructed of light gauge steel construction throughout. The Resistant Multi Pro XS was offered to the contractor by one of Resistant’s local area sales manager as an alternative to the proposed product. After various meetings with architects the Multi-Pro XS board was giving the green light for the contract.

The board was installed as drylining onto a light gauge steel stud system. The board was mechanically fixed to studwork and sealed on the joints with a fire proof sealant and the boards were taped and jointed throughout and the decorators sanded the boards and made good to offer a perfect finish after two coats of acrylic primer they decorated the boards just as you would a plastered room.

As the boards are easy to cut by the score and snap method, it meant the installation process was much more efficient compared to using boards which required the use of power tools or specialized cutting blades. The weight of the boards allowed them to be easily transported to the upper storeys of the building

The new development will help to cope with the demand for the growing population in Epsom, especially as many people would commute to London from this area. The apartments are so close to Epsom Train Station this means for an easier more efficient journey for London commuters.

The Resistant Multi-Pro XS board gave them a perfect board to work with – very strong and adaptable – resulting in their trades only having to fit one board saving time and labour costs. The board was backed up with very impressive passive fire credentials and in-house acoustic tests confirmed very satisfactory sound results. There were no issues with the board and the supply of the boards and the finish was perfect. All apartments have been sold which is fantastic. The boards have been highly recommended by the developers and the service from the company from technical to sales was perfect from start to finish.  Powerwall Construction have stated that they would undoubtedly recommend the Multi-Pro XS as it is a tough board and very easy to work with and gives fantastic passive fire qualities.
